The news conference began with the McNair Foundation presenting a check for $30,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

"He'll play and he took advantage of his playing time ...they're all going to play."

"He played 39 snaps. He was much better this week ... but he's been like going through training camp and we'll do what's best for him."
Doubted that he would come back?
"It's been a long time since he's been on the field. The key thing his response(physically) has gone well. The fact that he's back is not surprising. He makes the team more physically and the team improves with him on the field."
Game-planning different??
"We're going to continue to be aggressive. Matt's play and leadership has been great and that has a lot to do with our success."
"Number 80 is playing as good now as any receiver I've ever seen."
More on Andre.
"I've been around Jerry Rice and others ..and he's playing as well now as any of them."

"We're happy we came out on the positive side ...but every week is different and we need to keep that going."

Texans Offense??
It's good ...very good.
1st currently in first downs per game at 22.7.
1st in 3rd down conversions with 47.8%
3rd in time of possession ....
4th in total offense with 371.6 per game.
And remember these stats are not in the division or conference ....these stats are how the Texans rank league-wide.
Defensively ....obviously not so good ....but if they can hold everyone to 6 points like they did the Bengals on Sunday ....those stats will raise in a hurry also.
Jacoby Jones ....who had a punt return for a TD ....was named CNNSI's Peter King's Special Teams player of the week.

The Texans have done it.
They've won 3 straight games in a single season for the first time ever. A couple of weeks ago ....most people would have thought that wasn't possible ...at least this season.
But things have turned around. The improved play by the offense led by qb Matt Schaub ....has gotten this team back on track. The Texans win 35 to 6 ..and are now 3 and 4 on the season.
I'll have more on tonight's game on 11 News at 10. Butch Alsandor will have game highlights and I'll have a sidebar story from the game. See you on TV.

The Texans just ended this party for the Bengals ...as Steve Slaton ran 20 yards for another score ...it's 35 to 6 Texans with 9:54 left in the game.

Only trouble is ...the stadium is only half full .....
That's pathetic.
I don't care if the Bengals are winless and the home team has only won twice ....fans clamored for an NFL team for several years after Bud Adams took the Oilers to Tennessee ....and now .....the fans forget how hard it was to get a franchise back here.

If you want to be taken seriously as a quality NFL city .....you must show up for the games.
Period. Until the fans do that .....they won't be taken seriously.

Let me tell you this ....the Browns are not a good football team. But after they lost their franchise to Baltimore ....they were ready to do anything to get a team back ...and now even when they stink ...every fan is in his or her seat before the start of the game ..and cheering like crazy. Here in Houston ...we must have at least 25 thousand no shows.
It's pathetic!!

Ahman green horse collared ...illegally ....and he's out of the game.
complaining of a hip adductor strain ...that's my guess as I watched him talk to the trainers. It's inside of his left leg ....a groin injury will probably be the injury report.
In the meantime ..the Texans offense just keeps grinding along .....2nd and 9 at the Cincy 28.
