Windy and cool today with a decent freeze tonight... Cool nights and mild days thru Friday... Slight chance of sprinkles overnight. A warm Wednesday is in store for Denton... We may see enough moisture return to generate some patchy fog overnight. Rain chances will increase on Tuesday as an upperlevel disturbance moves by the area. A cold front will... No surprises today... Nice weather is expected today and on Presidents' Day...It really will be nice today and tomorrow with no surprises...I promise! We'll see fair skies with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 50s. Some clouds will move in overnight but should begin to scatter out by late morning.... Pleasant weather on tap here in Denton for the next few days...Next couple of days will see daytime temperatures here in the Denton area in the low 70s. Tonight the low temps will drop into the low to mid 50s. The next cool front is expected in on Friday evening and... Storms have moved out of the area but left some wind damage behind...The leading edge of this morning's line of storms had some pretty strong winds associated with them. Denton Municipal Airport had gusts to near 45 mph, Alliance airport had a 71 mph gust and Prosper's (Collin County) fire chief reported... Weekend weather for Denton includes hints of spring...Moisture continues to advance northward on today's very strong south winds. Clouds will be on the increase this evening and the low temperature will drop into the mid to upper 50s. Saturday we'll see the skies become partly cloudy in... WED: A warm up then back to normal by the weekend...Good ole Texas weather continues. We can truly say here that if you don't like the weather just wait a bit and it'll change. Temperatures are in the mid 50s now and should climb into the lower to mid 60s... Icing is beginning to be reported across the area.Reports are coming in of decent ice forming on elevated surfaces now. Here's an image grab from the TML1 Skycam. Looks like an icy mosaic on the camera dome. Temperature is at the freezing mark.... Storms continue to advance on Denton...TML1 Skycam shows some dark clouds moving in from the northwest. Here is a screencapture from TML1 taken at 8:03am:... FRI: Windy, Warm and Muggy With a Chance of Severe Storms Later Today...This is not your typical winter day forecast! Temperatures are rising, already exceeding originally forecasted temps. Dewpoints have climbed into the low-mid 60s and very strong south winds have overtaken the area. A Wind Advisory has been put into effect... Midday Tuesday Update... Inclement weather moving out of the area...This time of the year the art of forecasting is probably at its most difficult. And that definitely shows when I look back at what I posted yesterday about today making it to 60 degrees. Mid to upper 40s even... TUE: Cold front is moving through the area...Cloudy and cold with flurries tonight...Main push of cold air beginning to filter into the northwestern sections of the Denton county forecast area. The TML skycam is showing the high clouds beginning to thicken up to the west northwest and temperatures falling. We've seen our... IKE Update 1:30pm...Ike has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm now. In the next couple of hours the center of circulation will be moving through east Texas just to our east. We will continue to see banding rain and wind storms move... SAT: First bands of Ike blowing through the area...The TML Skycam has been pointed to the east to watch oncoming rainbands. Unsettled weather to continue...Well we've had a couple of bouts of showers this morning which is keeping temperatures down but the humidity up.
